The beefs fetched me along Shaw Blvd after my workshop. We went straight to SM Mall of Asia with no arguments.
After an hour of walking, we've finally decided to eat at Kalye Juan.
Crispy Pata
Fried pork's front leg and trotters. Well I, Amiel, don't eat Crispy Pata but the way I saw my friends eating it, busog na ako. It's like they were transported to heaven just by munching it, they even close their eyes for like 10 secs just to savour the taste. Based on their description, the Crispy Pata's balat is crunchy whilst it's laman is tender. What could be the secret to this great combination? There can only be two: Young pig and soda.
Sawsawan
This is the Delicious Crispy Pata's sawsawan. It is made up of soy sauce, vinegar, salt, sugar, red chili, pepper and onions. We didn't ask the manager or the waiter about the ingredients of course, we just felt them in our mouths. It's just fine; it matches the Pata.
Porkchop ni Juan
Served with the fat and skin. Again, I, Amiel, don't eat such foods. It has a sweet and salty sauce. It wasn't that good because it's almost all-fat. They should sell it cheaper.
Palabok ni Juan
The meaty and seafoody palabok was GOOD! It tasted great and their serving is just enough for the price we paid. It has shrimp, chunky meats, boiled egg and a bit of veggies. The palabok sauce was an epic win. It's even better than Iceberg's, ssh.
Steamed Kangkong with Bagoong
I could live for 10 years eating just these! (Exaggeration) It was so scrumptious. Their sauce has a different taste, it's a bit of maalat and a bit of matamis and a bit of maanghang. It's a bit of everything that's why I rated it as perfect. Chowking's style is also okay if I may compare them. This was the most healthy food of the night. Thank God for kangkongs.
